Mountain Air Services LLC is a flight services company formed out of an apparent need for quality aerial imagery at low cost and in a short time frame. Since the start of Mountain Air Services, we have expanded beyond the bounds of aerial photography and mapping into other flight related areas such as: flight instruction, aircraft rental, helicopter and airplane sightseeing, and providing flight crew resources to other organizations. Capturing aerial images and photography remains the focus of what we do, however, we have seen opportunities to take our knowledge and experience into other branches of business related to aviation.

Many people think of aerial photography as simply pointing a camera out the window of an airplane and snapping an image. This is not untrue, but aerial photography can be much more. Mountain Air Services does provide aerial imagery of both residential and commercial property for the interests of owners, buyers, sellers, and realtors. In addition, we provide aerial mapping with the use of a digital mapping camera. The camera suite, often called a sensor in the mapping world, is a DSS made by Applanix out of Canada. The DSS is an all digital system eliminating the need for time-consuming film development. One of the DSS's key features is it's ability to utilize direct georeferencing through the use of a GPS and IMU partnership that acts as a refining solution to give the images great accuracy without costly investments into ground control over the target photo area. Mountain Air Services has been active over the past several years working in industries such as forestry, engineering, and government contracting. A few examples of aerial imagery uses include, forest inventory and acreage determinations, corridor mapping for road way, power line, and pipeline assessment, and planimetric layout for future engineering projects. In addition to the capturing custom images for our customers we maintain a database of archive imagery. Purchasing archive imagery can be very helpful in providing a third party user with relevant photos of an area of interest for a reduced cost. We have captured millions of acres of imagery and flown hundreds of special interests sites. Advancing our abilities and continuing to provide low cost aerial imagery in a reasonable time frame will continue to be the values that guide us.

In addition to aerial photography and mapping, Mountain Air Services has expanded it's services into other aviation related venues that utilize our knowledge and experience in aviation. Opening a flight school that performs private, instrument, and commercial training in airplanes has been both and exciting and rewarding opportunity. Flight instruction is the process by which an individual with little or no flight experience becomes a responsible pilot and continues to build on those skills through the addition of ratings. We take this responsibility very serious and consider the opportunity to train tomorrow's pilots a privilege. In addition to flight training, Mountain Air Services provides aircraft rental to pilots who have already earned their wings and need a reliable aircraft to pursue their personal interests in aviation. We also recognize that while many individuals want to undergo flight training in order to earn a pilots license that there are those who would rather be passengers. Sightseeing is a large portion of the work that we perform with our Schweitzer 300C helicopter. We also give sightseeing rides in airplanes. Sightseeing is a great way to see the area that you live in or are visiting from a different perspective. Mountain Air Services also utilizes the helicopter for aerial patrol, surveying, and inspection. We provide entertainment to family reunions, fairs, and events by providing rides to the public.
